Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

(for a smoother ride!)

What is indoor cycling/spin class?

Spin classes are taught to high energy music by an instructor who will let you know when to adjust the tension or resistance on your spin bike, when to stand on your pedals, and when to sit. A different workout is achieved based on these factors, and a good instructor will encourage you to push yourself as you feel comfortable. They are a great way to push your endurance, increase fitness through interval training, and overall burn lots of calories while toning up those arms and legs at the same time!

This sounds intense, is this type of exercise for everyone?

Yes! One of the best parts of a spin class is that the focus is truly on you. You control the resistance on your bike, and can make the workout as difficult or easy as you want.  All instructors are trained and certified and will be able to help all beginners properly set-up and prepare for their first ride. Don't be intimidated, class is for all ages, genders, and ability levels.

Use Your Judgement & Listen to Your Body:

As with any physical activity, there is a risk of injury associated with indoor cycling. Upon becoming a CCC member, you agree to take full responsibility for your actions within the class and shall work within your own limits. Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. If you experience any pain or difficulty with these exercises, stop and consult your healthcare provider. Furthermore, please notify your instructor of any injuries you may be suffering from so modifications can be made.

What do I need to bring to class?

Bring a water bottle and a positive attitude and you're off to a good start! Towels and filtered water cooler are provided at the studio. Please bring CLEAN, DRY sneakers or cycling shoes. You can also rent shoes from us for $3 per class. Classes are pretty sweaty so make sure you are dressed in proper fitness attire. Sweat-wicking clothes are highly recommended.  Bottled water is also sold at the front desk.  All participants will need to sign an exercise waiver upon attending their first class. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign this form before you can take any of our classes. Please bring yourself free of outside distractions, including cell phones. These distract other riders and will not be permitted in the bike room.

If you don't own spin shoes, please bring  CLEAN, DRY sneakers. We do have limited shoes available for rental and you should be able to snag a pair! Rental is $3.

I don't have cycling shoes, can I still ride?

Yes, but....All of our bikes are compatible with SPD cleats. Sneakers may be worn for all classes, although indoor cycling shoes are highly recommended to produce the greatest effects and achieve maximum benefits from your workout. If you're not sure which shoes to buy talk to any of the instructors and we will be happy to recommend the proper shoes.

Do I need to sign-up for class or is walking in okay?

We recommend  reserving a bike for each class. This will enable you to plan your exercise schedule ahead of time and guarantee a bike for yourself, especially at peak times. A waiting list will automatically be generated when class is full and you will receive an email if someone cancels and a spot opens up for you! You are more than welcome to try to walk-in to any class, but space is not guaranteed. Availability can always be checked ahead of time on our website.

Furthermore, please arrive to class 10 to 15 minutes before start time. You will need time to set up your bike, especially if you are new and need help from the instructor. Waitlisted members will be given bikes 3 minutes prior to the start of class if open bikes are available.

I signed up for class but I can no longer make it, what is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel a class up to 4 hours before start time. This enables us to allow riders on the wait-list ample time to plan their day (or bedtime) and make appropriate arrangements to get to class. If you do not cancel within the 4 hour window you will forfeit the class credit. If you hold a monthly or yearly membership, a fee of $10 will be charged. No exceptions.

Do you have lockers and changing rooms?

We have benches/cubbies/coat racks where riders can stash their bags during their workout. Changing rooms are available as well as restrooms, but we do not offer showers. Reception staff will keep tabs on your stuff, and if they aren't available the club will be locked during all rides so no outsiders will have access during that time, ensuring your valuables are safe, and your full attention can be on your workout.

I am currently a certified indoor cycling instructor and would like to teach at the studio, how do I apply?

Awesome! Swing by for class and make sure you like our vibe, then send us over you resume & info!
